媒介:综合媒介 尺寸:60 x 75cm 创作年代:2020 留白在中国传统书画中很常见,刻意留出的空白,让作品显得协调精致,给人更多的遐想空间。而在西方艺术中,对此并不特别强调。 据说毕加索很欣赏中国画,还有几大本画册是临摹齐白石的作品。而从20世纪初开始,直到现在,许多中国艺术家远赴法国、英国、美国等地学习艺术。 当然,中西艺术不分高下,不过是各有各的脉络,各有各的风格。但是,如果把二者置于同一画面,会是怎样的效果?能不能呈现一幅和谐的作品? 对于这个问题,我尝试了很多种解答方式,《留白》是一个比较满意的回答。 把几幅经典油画稍加改动,用中国式的留白、墨迹置换画面的中心人物,让他们置身在油画的色彩和笔触之中。这或许只是中国画与油画在技法上的一次交融,但也印证了一直以来我的一个看法:中西方的文化的确相差遥远,但也绝不是什么老死不相往来,对话的可能性始终存在。

The blank space intentionally left makes the work seem harmonious and delicate, giving people more room for imagination. In Western art, this is not particularly emphasized. It is said that Picasso admired Chinese paintings, and he painted several large albums imitating Qi Baishi’s ink works. While since the beginning of the 20th century, until now, many Chinese artists go to France, Britain, the United States and other countries to study art. Of course, Chinese and Western art are quite different, and each has its own evolution and styles. However, if I put the two in the same image, how will it be? Can it be harmonious? I have tried many ways to answer this question, and the series Blank Space is a relatively satisfactory answer. Several classic oil paintings are slightly modified: the central characters of the picture are replaced with Chinese-style blank space and ink, and they place themselves in the colors and strokes of the oil paintings. This may just be a blend of Chinese painting and oil painting in terms of techniques, but it also confirms one of my viewpoints all along: the Chinese and Western cultures are indeed far apart, but they can have contact with each other, and the possibility of dialogue always exists.
